Happy 47th Anniversary RGBC!
:)
Today, we celebrated our 47th anniversary!
This year's celebration somehow caused me to reflect on my journey in this church since day one.
I stepped into this big family 4 years ago :) How time flies!
I remember saying the sinners' prayer right behind this sanctuary
and I was baptised right in front of this sanctuary! haha funnyy
and I like to sit somewhere in the middle of this sanctuary :D :p
i'm thankful for you, RGBC..really :)
and Father, I thank You for Your amazing grace over my life and over RGBC.
Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.

"so blessed I can't contain it,
so blessed I've gotta give it away!"
Familiar with this song? Heehee.
I don't normally do this..haha but I was really really blessed by Pr Palan's sermon last Sunday :)
and I just want to share with all of you!

A day to remember
Today is a day to remember.
Today, I witnessed reconciliation. It is such a beautiful moment/sight :') I admire his boldness, humility and selflessness to ask for forgiveness from the congregation. He caused me to examine my own heart - my evil intentions, thoughts. He taught me (or rather showed me) what it means to humble oneself before God and make every effort to maintain peace and to bring reconciliation.
Thank you very much.
"Jesus desires to heal our wounds. But we often do not let Him heal them because it is not the easiest road to take. It is the path of humility and self-denial that leads to healing and spiritual maturity. It is a decision to make another's well-being more important than your own, even when that person has brought you great sorrow. Pride cannot travel this path, but only those who desire to maintain peace at the risk of rejection. It is a trail that leads to humiliation and abasement. It is the road that leads to life."

Big E: Did you know? - Campus Camp
Attended 3 days 2 nights Frontliners Campus Camp at Stella Marris. It was a great time. Enjoyed the fellowship :) I didn't really went expecting anything actually..but God spoke! I'm like W-O-W.
I just came back from camp hehe. Had our sunday service at Camp :) As we raised our hands as act of surrender to God, I felt God's presence upon us. There was like fire burning on my neck and ear on my right hand side, so hot so hot even though the hall is air-conditioned. Pr Sandra then released a word to me "Carmen... For God has not given you a spirit of fear but of power, of love and of a sound mind...." I didn't really talk to Pr Sandra at all throughout the whole camp..she doesn't know what I'm going through or perhaps what I will be facing in the coming semester.
I'm like Wow God! You truly know my struggles and what I'm going through. You are a good God. Father who has a perfect heart for me! I claim that verse! Help me Holy Spirit.

ya sor chin chia ho!
I'm so blessed today! Just came back from the hokkien service about 2 hours ago :)
3 years in RGBC, first time sitting in a hokkien service. I feel so encouraged and so blessed to see old men and women faithfully serving God and loving God :) so awesome!!
My grandma and I were sitting with an old couple during dinner (food was provided before service). The old lady was talking and sharing with my grandma (grandmother's stories kinda thing), I wasn't really listening.. but I heard her saying something like "Life is meaningless if we do not know God." I was smiling, but deep inside my heart I was like "PREACH IT, AUNTIE!!!"
The worship was cool!! An old auntie (I think about 70 years old) was playing keyboard. wah lau ehh, gaya man! So coooooool. I went out to share my testimony after that. I ended my testimony by saying, "Next month, I will be 3 years old in my walk with God. My prayer is that .. whether I'm 3 years old or 30 years old or 70 years old, I will still walk with God like many of you here, worshiping the one true God because there's no other way besides Jesus and there's no other God besides Jesus. Thank you and Happy Mother's Day!" While I was walking back towards my seat, there was this old uncle waving at me and gave me a thumb up :) It is so encouraging to know that God is using you to touch other lives, all glory to Jesus!
Grandma (left) and old auntie (right)..
I came to find out that the auntie is actually pastor's wife :O
we were actually sitting with the guest speaker
and his wife during dinner.
Dun play play, God knows how to arrange
'people' to sit with my grandma :p

RGBC
I was clearing my room and I found my church magazine on the book shelf. I got it for free and flipped through it before but I never really take time to read it.

I found out that the reflected 'B' on the logo actually symbolises:
"creative, cutting-edge, unconventional approaches in proclaiming the gospel of Christ. We seek to be a pioneering, radical church led by wisdom according to the strategies imparted by Holy Spirit. We pave new ways and take on new territories in enriching lives and touching others."
"My vision is to see the spirit of Frontliners take over - the spirit of constantly wanting to move forward, pushing back the gates of hell. The church needs that spirit in order to expand. People need to be challenged. Challenges must meet felt needs in order to thrust the person to a higher level of maturity. I believe God wants to thrust us out."
- Pr. Edward Lim, ex Youth Pastor of RGBC-

Father, let me feel Your heartbeat for Frontliners and for RGBC.In Jesus' name, amen.

I'm a frontliner!
FRONTLINERS.
is the name for my church youth group.
Today, I came to realise that I never really 'own' that name even though I belong to this Frontliners Ministry. I've been in this youth group for more than 2 years but frontliners remain as a 'name' for my youth group. When I step out of church, I'm no longer a frontliner? Because all this while I did not carry this name with me.
But today, it just hit me. Hey man, It has to be more than just a name. This is who I am. No matter where I go and what I do, I carry my identity with me.
