tongue

God gave me a challenge:
Whenever I feel like speaking against someone,
feel irritated by someone, feel like wanna cekik him/her,

start praying for that person.

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. James 3:9-10

Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

Challenge diterima.
Help me Holy spirit.

true meaning of Grace

Last weekend, Pr.Mark Drake came over to our church to share about the topic on 'Grace'.
"What's the difference between mercy and grace?," he asked.
To me, there's not much difference, about the same lah.

But Pr.Mark Drake taught us about the true biblical meaning of GRACE!

Mercy is the undeserved and unconditional love of God for us. Mercy is important and essential. But this is not grace. Mercy by itself does not change who and what we are. God has mercy upon the whole world but it does not transform every life. Forgiveness alone does not transform the nature of a person.

But Paul clearly taught that we are saved because of God's mercy but we are saved by His grace.

Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

What made me alive in Christ when I was dead in my transgressions?
The power of God's grace.

Grace = God's power working in and through a person.

You know what, i'm also in the process of unlearning and relearning.. if you want to know more about the true meaning of grace (power of God working in you and through you), then get this book 'God's brilliant plan' by Mark Drake. I don't normally invest my money on books..like seriously. But I invested on this. You must not miss out the meaning of grace!

Jangan kata I tak beritau! :p

no condemnation in Christ

I saw the prostitute whom I hugged before this...came to kawan and attended their bm/hokkien service :')

God draws people to Himself.
It's not about who we are, but who He is.
and the fact is this: He loves you.
He accepts you even when you mess up your life,
but He will not just leave you there.
He will restore you.
He will deliver you
He will save you.
Because He loves you.
Will you respond to His love?
Will you say 'Yes' to Him?

John 8:3-11
As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd. “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?” They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!

Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.

When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”

No, Lord,” she said.

And Jesus said, Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

Lord, if You marked our transgressions,
Who would stand?

It's Your kindness Lord that leads us to repentance.

fearfully and wonderfully made

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.

Psalm 139:13-16

break my heart for what breaks Yours

Yee Vonne was sharing with me about her street evangelism experience. Many prostitutes gather there (I won't mention where) at night to wait for their 'business'. One of the prostitutes has a baby..about 1 year old.. When she needs to 'work', she will leave her baby with the rest of the prostitutes there. Her baby will be left crying...It's so heart breaking...

Father, I pray that You will break my heart for what breaks Yours... to a point where I cannot sit still and mind my own business..to a point where I cannot afford to sit still and do nothing.

Heal my heart and make it clean,
Open up my eyes to the things unseen,
Show me how to love like You have loved me,
Break my heart for What breaks Yours,
Everything I am for Your Kingdom's cause,
As I walk from earth into eternity.

As long as there's one more broken heart
One more crying soul, I'll go
And I will love them, Jesus
As long as there's one more needing You
One more I can show Your love, I'll go..

Social Work Exposure and Embracement Programme

actually.. I'm very excited for SWEEP!!! :)
Received an email from FES staff yesterday, really can't wait! :)

Dear SWEEPer,
Congratulations! You are one of the SWEEPers of 2011. Are you ready for 2011's Social Work Exposure and Embracement Programme? This will be the 4th time of SWEEP happening, the last one being in 2009. There will be 30 student participants (you are one of them!) and 7 FES staff in total. 4 students are currently on the waiting list. *(URGENT: If you can't make it for SWEEP for any reason, please contact us ASAP, so that we can allow others to attend it.)*

This year was interesting, because we had an overwhelming response to SWEEP way before the closing date and had to stop taking in forms after one point. So, in His plans for you, He has give you the opportunity to be part of this year's team. I hope you are excited about it. Please read through this letter carefully as there is information that is important for you to know.

:)
Father, break my heart for what breaks Yours.

how to pray?

" I don't know how to pray to Jesus."
" Do you know how to talk?"
"Yes."
"Then you know how to pray to Jesus..
because praying is talking to Jesus."

ya sor chin chia ho!

I'm so blessed today! Just came back from the hokkien service about 2 hours ago :)
3 years in RGBC, first time sitting in a hokkien service. I feel so encouraged and so blessed to see old men and women faithfully serving God and loving God :) so awesome!!

My grandma and I were sitting with an old couple during dinner (food was provided before service). The old lady was talking and sharing with my grandma (grandmother's stories kinda thing), I wasn't really listening.. but I heard her saying something like "Life is meaningless if we do not know God." I was smiling, but deep inside my heart I was like "PREACH IT, AUNTIE!!!"

The worship was cool!! An old auntie (I think about 70 years old) was playing keyboard. wah lau ehh, gaya man! So coooooool. I went out to share my testimony after that. I ended my testimony by saying, "Next month, I will be 3 years old in my walk with God. My prayer is that .. whether I'm 3 years old or 30 years old or 70 years old, I will still walk with God like many of you here, worshiping the one true God because there's no other way besides Jesus and there's no other God besides Jesus. Thank you and Happy Mother's Day!" While I was walking back towards my seat, there was this old uncle waving at me and gave me a thumb up :) It is so encouraging to know that God is using you to touch other lives, all glory to Jesus!

makan makan :) free food, so blessed :D

Grandma (left) and old auntie (right)..
I came to find out that the auntie is actually pastor's wife :O
we were actually sitting with the guest speaker
and his wife during dinner.
Dun play play, God knows how to arrange
'people' to sit with my grandma :p

chin chia ho! :) God is good!

Nobody gets a prize for starting the race well.
We only get a prize when we finish it well.

RGBC

I was clearing my room and I found my church magazine on the book shelf. I got it for free and flipped through it before but I never really take time to read it.

I found out that the reflected 'B' on the logo actually symbolises:
"creative, cutting-edge, unconventional approaches in proclaiming the gospel of Christ. We seek to be a pioneering, radical church led by wisdom according to the strategies imparted by Holy Spirit. We pave new ways and take on new territories in enriching lives and touching others."

"My vision is to see the spirit of Frontliners take over - the spirit of constantly wanting to move forward, pushing back the gates of hell. The church needs that spirit in order to expand. People need to be challenged. Challenges must meet felt needs in order to thrust the person to a higher level of maturity. I believe God wants to thrust us out."
- Pr. Edward Lim, ex Youth Pastor of RGBC-

And I found this too! *excited*

:)

Father, let me feel Your heartbeat for Frontliners and for RGBC.In Jesus' name, amen.

don't be ignorant

There are only 2 options when we die. It's either we go to heaven or we go to hell.
There's no such thing as 'a place in between'.

" I think I'm qualified to go to heaven."

You can't afford to 'THINK' you're going to heaven.
You need to be ASSURED of your salvation.

What if you die tomorrow?
Where will you go?
If you are unsure, then start seeking for an answer.
Don't be ignorant.
I used to be ignorant.
Let me tell you something,
You can't afford to be ignorant.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Potter's hands

Beautiful Lord, Wonderful Saviour
I know for sure, all of my days are held in your hands, crafted into your perfect plan
You gently call me into your presence guiding me by Your Holy Spirit
Teach me dear Lord to live all of my life
through Your eyes

I'm captured by Your holy calling
Set me apart, I know you're
drawing me to yourself

Lead me Lord I pray
Take me, Mold me, use me, fill me
I give my life to the Potter's hand
Call me, guide me, lead me, walk beside me
I give my life to the Potter's hand

For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. Hebrews 12:10-11
